Q&A: Science and Faith
Science and Faith
Question
Hello, honorable Rabbi. I’ve been dealing with this whole category of faith and science, and until now everything was fine and good. But after some time, when I became wiser and found answers to questions that had once been beyond me, I noticed that I had lost the faith in my heart. That is, even though I know what is true and what is not, my heart shows signs of indifference (especially toward the more spiritual areas of the Torah). So I wanted to ask whether you too ever reached this point in the past (because from what I understand, you deal with faith and science), and also what I should do in order to keep the intellectual side and restore the side of simple feeling to myself. Thank you.
Answer
It’s hard for me to answer you. Working on emotions is something for psychologists. If you know what is true, then you are a complete believer, and there is no deficiency in that.
