Q&A: Perfection and Self-Improvement
Perfection and Self-Improvement
Question
Hello Rabbi,
I listened to your series of lectures on perfection and self-improvement. You said that insofar as the delta is an additional perfection (in the sense that a fully complete penitent is preferable to one who has always been perfectly righteous), that does not apply to one who is already completely perfect.
But there is one basic thing I didn’t understand:
How does the Holy One, blessed be He, become more perfected through our actions? After all, we are not part of the Holy One, blessed be He…
Answer
Apparently, when He creates beings that become perfected, that itself constitutes His perfection. Something like this: when a child achieves accomplishments, that is also credited to the parents and educators.
