Q&A: A Question About Chabad Thought
A Question About Chabad Thought
Question
A question for our generation’s president, may he live long and well:
I’m interested in Chabad thought and would like to hear the Rabbi’s opinion on the matter:
A. Is the book Likkutei Amarim by Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi worthwhile to study from an intellectual standpoint? Does it contain sound insights?
B. What is your opinion of Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz? Is he an educated person worth listening to?
Thanks in advance
Answer
First, I hope I’m not “may he live long and well” like the original president of our generation is called by his followers (otherwise you’d have to contact me by fax to the graves).
Second, I’m far from being an expert or well-versed in Chabad literature, and even in the Tanya, though I am familiar with it. It certainly contains interesting and, in my humble opinion, correct insights.
Rabbi Steinsaltz is an astonishingly interesting Jew, and he is very much worth listening to and reading.
