Regarding veganism, I read what the Rabbi wrote in the past and wondered: if animals are raised in proper conditions and are not abused (aside from the slaughter itself), does the Rabbi think it is morally acceptable to eat meat in such a situation?

It seems to me that there is some virtue in refraining from eating even in such a situation, but that is certainly not a basic, binding requirement as it is in our current reality. Someone who wants to act on a higher moral level should refrain from eating it.
