Our forefather Abraham has a share in the act of that mother and her seven sons, beyond the fact that the act was done under his influence. I mean to say that even someone who has never heard of our forefather Abraham, or of the Binding of Isaac, is influenced by it in an intrinsic, almost segulah-like way. This is not an ‘educational myth’ in the sense accepted today, but an ‘operative myth’ (see the beginning of Orot HaKodesh for such a conception of the Torah in general)”
