Q&A: On the Printing House Affair
On the Printing House Affair.
Question
Hello Rabbi,
A question occurred to me in light of what happened with the Tzva BaKeshet printing house after it refused to provide service to an LGBT organization. Even though every business has the right to refuse to provide service to an ideology that conflicts with its views, what does the Rabbi think about a business that refuses to provide service to a gay person, a woman, an Arab, or a Haredi person on a personal basis—not refusing service to an ideology but to a person? Does it have such a right, similar to the fact that I am allowed not to let them into my home?
Answer
I didn’t understand the question. If he refuses to provide service to a person because of what they are, that is against the law and in my opinion also immoral. For example, not to sell bread to a gay person? What exactly is the question?
There was a post that dealt with this. Where is it?
