Question

A person who committed murder in front of two witnesses and shortly afterward was mortally wounded—must he be saved on the grounds of saving a life, even on the Sabbath, despite the fact that the next day he will be executed after a religious court accepts the testimony and the prior warning that were given there? Or since in the end he is destined to die, is passive inaction preferable? (The question concerns someone who was present there at the murder and is able to save him right now.)
