Q&A: Maimonides' Method for Counting Niddah
Maimonides' Method for Counting Niddah
Question
It is well known that according to Maimonides' view, from the moment a woman begins to see the first drop of blood, the cycle of seven and eleven begins from then on—seven and eleven, seven and eleven—with no interruption or change for all the days of her life. Now I saw that Rabbi David Bar-Hayim wrote here that everyone, from then until now, misunderstood Maimonides' intent, and that everything is built on a printing error—as opposed to the corrected text of Maimonides that he cites there. I looked there, and I did not see any significant change in his version of Maimonides.
What is the Rabbi's opinion on this matter? Many thanks to him.
