Hello Rabbi, following up on our conversation
Question
Hello, honorable Rabbi!
I looked in the fifth booklet but didn’t find any discussion of the writing of the Bible.
It says in the Torah that Moses our Rabbi wrote “this Torah,” but how do we know that this refers to the Five Books of the Torah? Maybe it means the continuation of the verses, etc.? I’m not questioning belief in revelation—that I understood from your booklet—and perhaps all the biblical descriptions are true and reliable, but how do we know that they were written prophetically by Moses our Rabbi?
Thank you in advance.
Answer
From tradition. There are indeed gaps, and perhaps not everything was written by him. But the presumption is that it was, until proven otherwise.
