The Book "The Birth of Doubt: Coping with Uncertainty in the Mishnah and the Tosefta" by Moshe Halbertal
Question
Hello Rabbi,
Recently a book by Moshe Halbertal was published: "The Birth of Doubt
Coping with Uncertainty in Tannaitic Literature."
*A link to the book’s page at Magnes Press, as well as to a look at the introduction and the beginning of chapter 3 of the book, and also to a short radio interview with the author about the book, can be found at the following link:

I would be glad to hear the Rabbi’s overview of the main arguments in the book related to the birth of doubt in the Mishnah and the Tosefta in their social, historical, and halakhic context
Answer
And I, for my part, would be very happy to see an Encyclopaedia Britannica of your own. If you can write it up and post it here on the site, I’d appreciate it.
And now seriously: if you have a specific question, post it here. I don’t think it’s appropriate to assign me tasks, certainly not things that require extensive work.
