Q&A: Questions of Faith
Questions of Faith
Question
1. Is there scientific proof for the existence of God?
2. How do we rely on the cosmological argument if it’s impossible to prove that the principle of causality is correct, and can one really learn from a clock, for example, about other things like the world?
Thank you very much!
Answer
1. On the site there are booklets in which I explain the proofs for the existence of God. These are not scientific proofs, since science is based on observation, and it is impossible to observe God.
2. In the second booklet I explain the cosmological proof. Every proof is based on foundational assumptions, and those cannot themselves be proven (otherwise they would not be foundational assumptions). The principle of causality is an assumption, but it is accepted by the overwhelming majority of people, and therefore one can rely on it in a proof.
All the best,
