Q&A: Settler Hypocrisy?
Settler Hypocrisy?
Question
Suppose some regional council calls on the masses [and arranges transportation at public expense, etc.] to demonstrate against the Prime Minister. And why? Because they want him to approve more and more construction in several communities within its jurisdiction, and the Prime Minister did not approve it.
Until a few months ago they also wanted to approve that same construction, but the one who held the position then, the person accused of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust, of course did not approve it. And back then they did not demonstrate against him at all.
People prone to malicious gossip claim that that head of council belongs to some party that is not currently in the coalition, and is simply using the money and public resources of all the councils in order to help his friend in the opposition politically against the Prime Minister, and that the reason is obviously not substantive.
A. Is it proper to be concerned about what those gossips are saying, namely that it is all just interests and corruption in the use of public resources, especially since they seem to have what appears to be pretty good evidence for their view?
B. If there really are grounds to think that this is all moral corruption and misuse of public funds, would it be appropriate to file a complaint with the Interior Ministry and the State Comptroller about this outrageous conduct?
Of course, this is all purely hypothetical…
Answer
If you suspect corruption, file a complaint. I am not a jurist.
