Question

Hello and blessings. The Talmud in Bava Batra 10b bases the prohibition against accepting charity from a gentile on the verse, “When the harvest dries, they shall be broken.” Of course, the verse itself cannot be the source of the prohibition, since it only says that the multiplication of their merits prolongs the exile, but does not at all indicate that there is any problem with prolonging the exile. So it seems clear that the source of this prohibition is logical reasoning. Of course, one might question the very assumption that every commandment a gentile performs prolongs the exile, but if we accept that assumption at face value, I wanted to ask whether there is room to say that this is a Torah-level prohibition, on the grounds of the laws of saving life. After all, it is well known how the Jews were persecuted before the State was established, and seemingly contributing to the prolongation of that situation ought to be forbidden. No?
