In the lecture series on faith, you said that by definition God is someone whose commands you must fulfill regardless of whether they seem right, and that anyone who asks why one should do what God says does not understand what God is.
But in the trilogy you did give a reason for religious obligation — philosophical gratitude; that is, God has rights over me because He created me, and by virtue of that I am obligated to comply with His command.
