Q&A: Advertising a Dance Festival Website
Advertising a Dance Festival Website
Question
Hello Rabbi,
I’m asking a question that maybe I asked something similar to in the past,
but here I feel it’s a bit more serious.
They want me to market on Google the website of a dance festival in Ashdod.
This is a festival that mostly has mixed dancing and probably also not always modestly dressed.
Is this appropriate? Permitted?

Answer
I think there is no halakhic prohibition here, since if you don’t promote it, someone else will. I also assume that if it is organized by a municipality and not by a private person, there won’t be anything too terrible there. Besides, the participants would presumably be doing this anyway, and they won’t do anything there that they wouldn’t do without it. Bottom line: if you can avoid it, you will be blessed, but in my opinion there is no obligation to do so.

Because then this is not a case of “two sides of the river,” and you are not violating "do not place a stumbling block."
Thank you very much!
By the way, a question:
If this is something improper, then why does it matter that if I don’t do it they’ll find someone else who will?
