Discussion on Answer
Hi Someone,
The discussion took place yesterday at Beit Alma (an organization that promotes various intellectual meetings and events) in Tel Aviv. The topic of the discussion between the Rabbi and Prof. David Enoch was the question of whether objective morality is possible in the absence of God.
An update: the discussion in question has apparently been uploaded online
It has indeed been uploaded.
But right at the outset, something strange and bizarre happens.
The mask comes off the face דווקא when it is needed most—while speaking. At the very time when the mouth naturally spits and spreads droplets carrying the dangerous coronavirus. And so the speaker endangers the entire holy and vaccinated audience.
And nobody in the audience says a word.
What is critical for morality is not God but fear of God. Fear. Which is already a psychological matter.
And Abraham said, “Because I thought, surely there is no fear of God in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.”
Is Prof. David Enoch related to Rabbi Chaim Zvi Enoch, one of the shapers of Religious Zionist education in our country?
Best regards, Hanoch Henekh Feynshmaker-Palti
Could you give some details about where, why, and in what framework the discussion took place?
