Q&A: The Donors' Protest
The Donors' Protest
Question
Hello and blessings, Rabbi Michi,
Is refraining from donating blood, as long as the donation form says "Parent 1" and "Parent 2," the proper way to protest against the LGBT community? And more broadly, is there any point in protesting the wording of the forms? (I myself sign the forms without any fuss or noise.)
Thanks in advance,
Answer
Absolutely not. The fact that there are homosexual parents does not mean that their child has no right to live. And the fact that the form is also directed toward homosexuals does not mean that people who will be saved by the donation have no right to live. This is completely absurd. Why donate blood to Sabbath desecrators or to those who have relations with menstruant women? Maybe there should be a form asking whether the recipient keeps the Sabbath?
Without getting into the protest itself and whether it's right or not,
Don't you see a problem with all these phrasings whose purpose is to turn homosexuality and the dismantling of the family into something legitimate, and the traditional family into something primitive? After all, at the next stage they'll forbid saying "father" and "mother" because it goes against political correctness. We all know the progressive culture that rules the street.
