Q&A: Distribution of Traits Between Women and Men
Distribution of Traits Between Women and Men
Question
In your book you wrote (Human as Grass, p. 124):
"It is customary to distinguish between the two hemispheres also along the axis of women and men. It is known that in women the left hemisphere is more developed, and in men the right. This topic, which changes the division of the areas in which women or men excel, will be discussed below in the final section."
At first glance, I did not find in the final section any mention of a distinction between women and men (only of kindness and strength, wisdom and understanding). I also did not find it in the index. If you did in fact write about it, could you perhaps direct me more precisely?
Answer
Indeed, I too now found only a note on pp. 562-3, and apparently I had planned to insert there the connection between the feminine side (left, strength) and the masculine side (right, kindness), but I did not add it.
Discussion on Answer
I’m not familiar with any.
Okay, thank you very much.
And in this connection—are you familiar with articles that actually divide traits between man and woman in terms of analyticity and synthetic thinking (and the related brain mapping)? I mean serious articles with serious studies (relatively speaking, of course). Not Seven Blessings-style sermonizing. Can you point me in the right direction?
