Question

A question for Rabbi Michael Abraham
If we believe in free choice, then why assume in the first place that we can’t withstand this? Surely we can withstand it, at least in theory, even if we fail time after time.
Also, I don’t think it is harder for a homosexual than for any other man who is asked to refrain from physical contact, to guard against wasting seed, and not to sleep with non-Jewish women or unmarried women. And there is no end to this, because each person finds different things difficult according to his circumstances, etc. So on what grounds would one find any leniency for homosexuals? Just as with an adolescent boy we say, “Don’t watch pornographic content,” even though it is difficult for him, so too with homosexuals we would say: don’t go with a male.
