Answer
I didn’t understand the question. Are you asking whether I agree? No. If you want to discuss it, raise the specific point in his remarks and your question.
Discussion on Answer
Honestly, I wanted to know the Rabbi’s opinion about the way Rabbi Tau’s students use the Torah-level prohibition of accepting malicious speech, and Rabbi Kalner’s statement that according to Rabbi Kook, whoever accepts this “malicious speech” is evil incarnate. I wanted to know whether, from a halakhic standpoint, there is any substance to these claims. (Maybe there was also a hidden desire to warm Michi up and get a fluent and amusing response from him.)
You’re asking whether according to Jewish law, someone who accepts malicious speech is malicious speech incarnate? 🙂
Since Rabbi Kalner probably doesn’t understand those words either, I’m certainly too small for that.
The prohibition of malicious speech itself is of course relevant here. However, in several places I’ve discussed the prohibition of accepting malicious speech and the tension between Jewish law and the facts. Search the site.
Hello Yishai,
I’m asking sincerely—what was the purpose of your question?
To get an in-depth analysis in response to Rabbi Kalner’s remarks, or to warm Michi up and heat up the atmosphere?
