Q&A: Is success proof?
Is success proof?
Question
Does the success of the Jewish people—the fact that there are many Jewish Nobel Prize winners, many wealthy Jews, many Jewish scientists/philosophers/rulers/artists/writers, and the fact that the Jewish people survived throughout history (which doesn’t apply to any other people)—not prove beyond a thousand witnesses that there is something there (the Holy One, blessed be He) and that He watches over His people with individual providence?
Answer
No. It could be a statistical phenomenon (there are other peoples with special characteristics too). It could also be the result of a unique culture and character of a people, and not necessarily divine involvement.
Discussion on Answer
I already wrote my opinion.
Maybe the fact that people talk a lot about the Jewish people is connected to the fact that it is the root of the major religions, Christianity and Islam. In antiquity they weren’t really known.
A very interesting people that has so many Nobel Prizes, and they’re all Ashkenazim.
Are you hinting that Jews from Middle Eastern communities, who have no Nobel Prize winners at all, aren’t Jews?

My ignorance…
If I could, I’d delete it.
Thanks.
By the same principle, one could count the Nobel Prize winners, scientists, economists, high-tech entrepreneurs, writers, poets, etc. who oppose Bibi’s “judicial reform,” and see that their concentration is dozens of times higher than those who support the reform, and infer something about the current coalition…
Or we could simply say that it’s completely coincidental.
Not necessarily, fine. But it’s very, very plausible, no? Like, by chance the Jewish people are the smallest people but are talked about the most; like, by chance everything that happens to them? It’s a bit hard to accept, no?
