The Death Penalty for Terrorists
Question
Following United Torah Judaism’s refusal: is there a halakhic reason to say that the state is forbidden to execute terrorists? How is this different from the other laws of the monarchy/state? Thanks.
Answer
I haven’t heard of this. But it’s nonsense. Clearly the state is permitted to impose the death penalty even on its own citizens (by the law of the state), and certainly on enemies. This is a kind of war.
