Talking to myself, making myself laugh, convincing myself. Is that okay?

Question

Sorry for the strange question
but it really is a genuine question,
and it’s been bothering me for quite a while.

I often talk to myself, persuade myself, even make myself laugh.
People around me don’t look kindly on it; they comment on it and hint that it probably requires treatment, apparently psychiatric treatment.
It seems that this has grown stronger in recent years.

But I have 2 questions about it
1. Lots of people sing to themselves, hum to themselves, and in that way make the time and life more pleasant for themselves. Who decided that singing is okay, but talking, persuading, explaining, summarizing, or making myself laugh is not okay?
2. I’m a bit unusual in the abundance of wisdom, depth, and learning with which the Creator, blessed be He, has endowed me (and I’m understating it, since I’ll make do with only a few praises of myself so that Heaven forbid I not lose the distinction of humility, in which I also excel — seriously!).
And this abundance of wisdom (together with the small number of people interested in hearing it) requires me to arrange my thoughts, organize them, put each thing in its proper order, and that helps me think and reach conclusions.
Who decided, and why, that this is not okay? Because it’s unusual? So what? I’m deep and not superficial, and that requires study, depth, and organizing my thoughts.

If the Rabbi has 2 answers, or even just 1, I very much want one.

With great esteem,
The wise humble man who talks to himself and makes himself laugh

Answer

I see that today is Minor Purim for some of the questioners. I don’t see anything disqualifying about this, except that it isn’t the usual way of the world and so it looks odd. If it doesn’t bother you to appear odd, then you can continue. To your health.
