Intuition
Question
Hello Rabbi, if possible, could you please direct me to the column where you explain the rationale for listening to intuition? Thanks in advance.
Answer
I don’t remember a specific column. In my books Two Carts and Truth and Unstable, I discuss this at length. In general, we have no option not to rely on intuition. It underlies every logical argument and every scientific observation and generalization. Anyone who does not rely on it is inevitably driven into complete skepticism.
In my opinion, refusing to rely on intuition—beyond the complete skepticism to which it leads—indicates, or at least can indicate, psychological weakness. In other words, relying on intuition (of course not only on that) means believing in myself, in my very life.
