I don’t know whether you’re familiar with the details, but broadly speaking:
Strauss decided to cancel its advertising on Channel 14, and that’s an economic blow to the channel, which in any case probably isn’t making much money.
I don’t know whether you know the criticism of the channel, but that criticism, together with Ari Shamai’s latest statement about Yigal Amir (which was asked about on the site), led to the decision to stop advertising on the channel.
Two of the main criticisms of the channel:
1. Channel 14 coddles Bibi and his other corrupt partners.
2. The journalists on Channel 14 are a bunch of accomplished liars and are unprofessional.

In any case, following Strauss’s move, Yinon Magal and the other crazies came out calling for a boycott of Strauss.
Yesterday it reached a peak—a letter was published signed by quite a few important rabbis from Religious Zionism, in which they announced that they are boycotting Strauss and also called on their students to do the same.
My question is: isn’t it a desecration of God’s name for rabbis to come out in defense of a fake-news channel like 14?
By the way, I’m a religious person and I’m pretty despairing of rabbis—it seems that there are almost none for whom the conduct of this corrupt coalition is troubling. (I know there are some additional rabbis like you, but you are few.) In addition, almost all rabbis and religious people keep justifying the Haredi conduct of living off allowances, while ignoring the economists’ warnings. In short, I feel that this is a really hard time to be a thinking religious person.
