In the series on faith, the Rabbi illustrates ontic doubt in the physical world of quantum theory and in the halakhic world through the example of betrothal that was not given for intercourse.
I thought of bringing another example from the Daf Yomi, Kiddushin 60, in Rabbi Yohanan’s view regarding “Behold, you are betrothed to me after thirty days,” where he said, “Even a hundred can take hold of her,” and Tosafot say that even though it is impossible to betroth half a woman, here it takes effect because he betroths all of her partially.
