I live in the holy city of Bnei Brak, may it be rebuilt and established, and I am interested in working out in a gym.
In this city there is one gym for men, and I don't like it. On the other hand, in another city there are good gyms, but they are mixed, with men and women together.
Is it permitted for me according to Jewish law to work out in a mixed gym?

I do not know whether this is actually forbidden from a halakhic standpoint, but it seems to me proper to avoid it. This is a situation in which people are exposed in a fairly intimate way, and the women there are usually dressed in a manner that is not especially modest.
