Q&A: Fairness
Fairness
Question
Many positions in the areas of religion, commandment observance, beliefs, etc., that individuals and the public hold, you attribute to psychological factors, and regarding some of those factors, you even allow yourself to mock them. Quite apart from my opinion on the substance of the matter, would you agree that your positions on those issues could also be analyzed using such tools, and would you show openness if that were expressed in responses to you?
Answer
Instead of making general and false declarations, it would be better to bring examples. And in the end, try me.
Discussion on Answer
Give examples instead of blabbering
Take this as a small sample, from the second-to-last article, and again, regardless of my opinion on the matter:
"This is essentially an accurate description of the personality disorder known as 'sociopathy,' which nowadays is commonly called 'antisocial personality disorder.'"
An example of what? Seems to me you need a lesson in reading comprehension.
I need a lesson in reading comprehension?????….. What's unclear? You attribute the positions of those you criticize and oppose – among other things – to antisocial personality disorder!! And I repeat my original question: would you agree that criticism of your positions on various issues, just for example, your outlook on "thin Judaism," could also be explained against the background of a personality disorder, condescension, a compulsive need to enter the gallery of reformers, and so on.
I fully agree that you accompanied the psychological diagnosis with additional arguments, but the question still stands.
I'll emphasize once again: what I wrote does not indicate my own positions, and you can't infer from it that I oppose your positions. My question stands on its own.
I'm glad my lesson worked. You added an important point here: the arguments. I didn't attribute anything to the diagnosis. I attributed it to the arguments. The diagnosis is a result of the arguments, not an assumption on which I rely. That's not called "attributing." Long live the small difference.
After the lesson in reading comprehension, I can answer:
If you base claims on my diagnosis, I have nothing to discuss with you. But if, on the basis of arguments, you infer something about a disorder I have, I don't have the slightest problem with you. Did it really occur to you that I'd have a problem with that?
False???? Are you ever here on the forum?
