A Logical Question?
Question
I recently saw someone say that the question "Does God exist?" is not a logical question, because if God does not exist then He is not God. Can one really say such a thing? It feels to me like there is some fallacy here, but I can't quite put my finger on it…
Answer
The formulation you quoted is simply nonsense. If God does not exist, then He is not God. Therefore, there is no God.
I assume the intention is the ontological proof. That is a similar argument, and it is discussed at length in the first conversation in my book The First Existent.
