One of the main criticisms (though not the only one) of socialism is that it tries to take a complete, rigid system that was conceived in a closed room and apply it to reality without stopping to learn from what is actually happening along the way, מתוך the assumption that reality has to be as we imagined it. It seems that libertarianism also sometimes does the same thing, just with opposite principles.

I agree with every word. I’ve written about this more than once (about the advantages and disadvantages of ideologies and orderly doctrines versus pragmatism).
