Q&A: Amos Biderman
Amos Biderman
Question
Biderman is a cartoonist at Haaretz, and he posts provocative cartoons. He often puts up cartoons against Haredim, portraying them as spreaders of disease (during COVID) and as robbers who love money. Today he posted this cartoon:

Do you think it is proper not to post content like this because of antisemitic associations? For many people it triggers associations with Nazi Germany.
Answer
To me this does not look like a cartoon at all. It is an illustrated description of reality. And if it bothers someone, let him kindly change the situation. What bothers him is the situation, not the drawing. Someone who robs is offended when people say about him that he is a robber. Then let him not rob, and they will not say that about him.
Sad that Jews draw cartoons that recall dark days.
Sad that drawing reality recalls dark days.
Sad that we are in dark days.
