Labeling the Box of the Bicycle Training Wheels
Question
Hello Rabbi,
Today I removed the training wheels from my daughter's bicycle. In our attic we have neatly arranged storage boxes, so in order to remember where the wheels are even a year from now, I labeled the bag they were placed in inside the box and wrote on it that these were training wheels.
I did this out of concern that in the future, when I look for the wheels, I might not be able to locate them if there were no suitable label.
I wanted to ask: is this considered "writing to prevent a loss"?
Answer
You could have postponed that whole action until after the festival. But under the circumstances, it seems reasonable to me.
