Sperm Donation
Question
Hello Rabbi,
Is a kohen allowed to marry a woman who was born from a sperm donation from a Jewish man? And is the law different if it was from a non-Jew?
Answer
Why not? Even from a non-Jew it is halakhically permitted (in the Shulchan Arukh it says that one born from a non-Jewish man and a Jewish woman is unfit for the priesthood, but not actually forbidden).
Discussion on Answer
The commentaries there explain that ideally one should not marry her.
What does "unfit for the priesthood" mean?
