Question

My community suffers from lots of missile fragments and parts.
Apparently we’re a preferred target for interceptions.
A lot of houses get damaged.
 
This time it’s a big one.
Not a tiny fragment, but an actual respectable missile.
The army checked it and confirmed that it’s no longer dangerous.
A few strong teenage boys came and took it to their shack,
and they claim that the Iranians abandoned it and they acquired it.
 
The community wants the missile for itself.
 
Who is right?
Did the community acquire it? By acquisition through one’s property even though the property is not really secured?
Or do the quick and burly boys who picked it up and took it to their own secured property acquire it?
