Hello Rabbi,
I didn’t understand how “it is enough for what is derived by law to be like the source case” fits together with “we do not derive punishments from logical inference.”
For example, with monetary law (according to the view that we do not derive monetary penalties by logical inference), based on the rule of “it is enough,” I cannot collect more money than in the lighter case, but based on “we do not derive punishments,” I cannot collect anything at all.
In addition, regarding lashes (although I don’t know whether the rule of “it is enough” applies to lashes).
