Q&A: Evolution
Evolution
Question
The Rabbi’s view that evolution is actually a support for belief in God is well known (since what seemed improbable in fact actually happened).
I wanted to ask an earlier question than that: after everything you’ve read about evolution, and from what you know of it, do you have any professional, logical, or analytical reservations about the scientific theory of evolution itself, in its various details and overall framework (at least from what you know)? Maybe about the way scientists draw conclusions in this field, or work with observations or fossils?
Or overall, from that standpoint, does everything seem sound to you, with no obstacle to accepting its central themes (at least those that are not under dispute among researchers) as a strong and sufficiently well-founded scientific theory?
Answer
I am not qualified to offer a professional opinion. But my impression is that the theory is well founded.
