Faith, Understanding, and Knowledge
Question
If understanding is faith, why is it that in Maimonides, and perhaps elsewhere too, it doesn’t say to understand? It says to believe and then to know. As I understand it, after you choose to believe, then you have knowledge.
Answer
What difference does it make whether it says to believe, to understand, or to know? For our purposes, it has the same meaning.
