A debate between the Ba'ab and the P'eol.
I was hired to guard workers.
The summary was clear starting at 6:50.
The actual practice was (common among the guards) that when the workers announced that they had arrived or were about to arrive, the guard would leave his house and come to the checkpoint to let them in on their work. If they did not call, usually after a few minutes the guard himself would call to find out where they were, when they would arrive, etc.
Because there's no point in wasting precious morning time (needing help at home with the kids, sending them to school, etc.) waiting in vain.
This is how things went for a while.
After a while, I finished my shifts at the BAAB.
But after a few days, the Ba'ab was again looking for a guard and advertised that he was looking for a 7-year-old.
I contacted him and agreed to come on day 1 (which I had free time for).
We didn't talk about the time, and I was glad it was 7:00 and not 6:50 as he had explicitly announced. Accordingly, I set my alarm clock 10 minutes ahead.
(It should be noted that the usual and accepted shift in our area is from 7 am and anyone who wants to start earlier should let us know)
I sat at home from 7 and waited for the call from the workers.
After a few minutes of not receiving the call, I contacted them. At first there was no sound and no answer (both with the workers and with the Ba'ab), but after a few minutes they called: Come, we're waiting.
I came and put them to work.
If you come early, there is no line (relatively) and you get in pretty smoothly, but from 7 onward, a line starts and those who are late travel twice as far, about the same as the morning commute to Tel Aviv in episodes, every minute late = a fine for a few extra minutes in traffic)
I feel like a fix? %A. 7 and not 6:50 That's how he posted about the new save and yes when we talked and agreed verbally he didn't say 6:50 (I set the alarm clock accordingly)
B. At 7 I didn't receive a call, a few minutes later I called and they didn't answer, when they called I left my house and let them in (subject to the queue at the entrance)
The homeowner feels cheated.
that:
A. He claims he didn't know during the previous guard period that I don't report at 6:50 but rather by phone with the workers and sometimes I 'gain' a few minutes. And maybe he deserves some compensation for that.
The fact that it is acceptable and reasonable in the field, he either doesn't know it, or believes it is unfair.
on. About 6:50 or 7.
It is agreed that he wrote 7 and not 6:50, and that he did not tell me that it was 6:50 and not 7, even though it explicitly says 7.
But I had to understand this because that's how we worked before. And that's the way
That means 7 means 6:50 for him.
And it makes sense to start a few minutes earlier to save time in line, etc.
And I can't believe I set the clock 10 minutes later last night because I honestly thought that 7 is 7 and not 6:50.
third. The fact that I didn't show up at 7 and waited for the phone is wrong because we agreed on 7 and didn't agree to wait for the phone. (And as above, he doesn't recognize that this is a common custom or doesn't recognize the legitimacy of this custom, and he didn't even know that I actually acted that way with him during the previous guard period)
D. The fact that the reservation in the past was often made by phone and not exactly at 6:50 is because I understand that this is the practice with him (not exactly with everyone, but that is how he presents it). So why didn't I understand that even when he writes 7 and even though he doesn't say it verbally later, he means 6:50?
To his understanding, a kind of "What's your mind?": If we go by what is written, then it is written 7 and on 7 I did not show up.
And if we follow the custom (which allows waiting until called by phone), then the custom with him is 6:50, even though it says 7, and I had to be ready (for the phone) from 6:50, not 7.
E. Even if I am right at the end of the day in every detail, I still have to apologize because somehow overall I am wrong.
I feel like this is unnecessary and unfair chatter.
6:50 is not 7 and there is no complaint against me. I acted fairly and in good faith.
And waiting for the phone has logic, a kind of accepted custom and one actually practices it (even if one claims not to have known about it).
Justice for whom?
It should be noted that the security fee per day is 400 NIS and he claims that the damage caused by the delay is even more than the daily fee.
And yes, he is an honest and God-fearing man, but it is clear that he thinks he is right about ?% but I also feel right about ?%.
What to do?
