A question about the color of the tassel

Dear Rabbi

I know you like to ask questions individually and not like a meter on the ground in one fell swoop, so I'll cut in and ask briefly here:

Did the tzitzit initially only have white threads?
Did God change this over time and decide one day that we would add a blue thread to the first tassel?

Or has there always been the well-known tzitzit, the blue thread woven with white threads, since time immemorial?
