Artificial Intelligence-Based Analysis in Talmud

שו"תArtificial Intelligence-Based Analysis in Talmud
שאל לפני 4 שנים

Hello Rabbi Michi,
I am a computer science student, currently looking for ideas for a thesis. Due to my familiarity with various artificial intelligence and big data technologies (including in the context of text analysis), I came up with the idea of trying to research the Gemara with these tools, and trying to extract interesting insights.
The main problem I encountered is that it is difficult to "teach" a computer to learn an issue or analyze an argument, let alone "understand" them, even if they are simple and fresh – almost every artificial intelligence algorithm requires already analyzed information in order to train the model on it; such a database does not exist to the best of my knowledge (an accessible database of Gemara systematically divided into issues, arguments, difficulties and decompositions, etc.) and therefore I am currently looking for research topics with interesting insights that will not force me to manually map dozens of issues.
Does the rabbi have any ideas, thoughts, or references to sources that could help me?
Thank you very much in advance!

We need to think. We can try to sort (controlled or, more interestingly, uncontrolled) issues or parts of issues according to structure and style, and see whether it is possible to confirm or refute the classification accepted in Talmudic research into different types and sources.
