Chemical castration for a pedophile

There is a halachic ruling here http://halacha.co/%D7%A1%D7%99%D7%A8%D7%95%D7%A1-%D7%9B%D7%99%D7%9E%D7%99-%D7%9C%D7%A4%D7%93%D7%95%D7%A4%D7%99%D7%9C/#_ftnref1
It's worth reading the comments there as well.
It is written here that chemical castration is forbidden by Torah, and therefore, according to Halacha, he must be permanently imprisoned.
The question is asked in two ways. There is a hypothetical situation in which "Yad Yisrael is attacking" and the judge has to decide how to treat an accused pedophile, whether to imprison him or castrate him.
A second situation (as in the above question), where the pedophile comes to consult on how to act so as not to fail. It is difficult to see a situation where he would voluntarily volunteer to sit in prison, or for the police to publicize his weaknesses so that they would be wary of him.
How would you decide each of the questions? And would you take into account his personal situation (married/unmarried, has/does not have children)?

First, for the Jewish community, he is considered a persecutor, and just as it is permissible to kill him (which is a more severe prohibition), it is permissible to castrate him. Although one should consider the possibility of saving him from one of his organs – to put him in prison, the Jewish community is not obligated to do this because he becomes a burden on the public. Think for yourself: if there is a serial persecutor, should we allow him to be killed, or should we prohibit him and have to place a guard over him day and night? This is the moral law that permitted killing him (even in the moral law of money), and the poskim wrote that this is because he repeats and changes in sin. And especially if one understands that the prohibition of castration is so that he can fulfill his duty, if he is in prison he will not fulfill it (and that is a good thing, because he will not be able to take care of his children). If the problem is with the pedophile himself who comes for consultation, seemingly there is no reason to allow him to violate a prohibition (this is not like our consideration when he is considered a persecutor with respect to society as a whole, as discussed above). But perhaps we should consider that he is like a compulsive person, and therefore perhaps he himself is not allowed to undergo castration. After all, this does not detract from a surgery that is permitted to be performed even in a place where there is no Pikoon in order to improve our lives, even though the surgery is prohibited by a havel. And they have already elaborated on this in the Agam and Ahiezer, and the things are ancient. Ultimately, it simply seems to me that it is permissible and appropriate to have him neutered.
