Conservative synagogue

שו"תConservative synagogue
שאל לפני 8 שנים

Hello Rabbi!
Is it permissible, in terms of strict halachic law, to pray in a Conservative synagogue? If not, what are the possible halachic problems?
thanks!

I assume that halachically we can talk about the question of the text (if there is a different text) and about a mixed yeshiva of women and men. In terms of the wording, I do not know the reality and any change in wording should be discussed on its own merits. In terms of mixed yeshiva, in my opinion there is no halakhic prohibition (in dry halakhic terms) on mixed yeshiva in the synagogue. This is an ancient and accepted custom, but in my opinion nothing more than that. Although if women expose private parts, there may be a prohibition on saying something sacred and sacred in front of them. This too should be discussed, at least with regard to hair on a woman. Several poskim have already written that although women are accustomed to revealing their hair, the halakhic situation is different. Needless to say, I don't think what's troubling those who would ban it is any halachic question.
