Haredi recruitment
peace
This week I discussed with a friend the issue of ultra-Orthodox conscription, law and politics. We thought that whether the legislature decides or the High Court decides that the ultra-Orthodox should be conscripted, it won't happen. They will listen to the rabbis who will tell them not to conscript, even at the cost of prison. How do you put hundreds of thousands of people in prison? On a practical level, what can be done about it? In general, if the public does not accept the authority of the law or the law, there is nothing you can do about it. If a law is passed that prohibits men and women from wearing headscarves in public and that the penalty alongside it is prison, 2 million people will oppose it, it is simply not feasible. My main question is about the ultra-Orthodox. What can be done practically? If "we will die and not conscript" or "he will be killed and not pass away," then what is the solution?
