Hatred of Jews

I recently asked the rabbi a question in which I assumed that the rabbi would agree that there is no spiritual necessity for Jews to be hated in the world. This was an instinctive assumption of mine because I tend to introduce mystical forces into reality only when I have to, but since then I have remembered and reflected several times on the strange dimensions of the hatred and persecution that the Jewish people have experienced almost continuously for thousands of years. My father also told me that this is actually written in several sources (not the Gothic ones) – I don't remember where. I have heard quite a few natural explanations over the years, but they are all convoluted and usually do not apply to all cases of persecution and expressions of hatred.
The big problem is the famous question about the punishment for the Egyptians (in the story of the Exodus) – how can humanity as a collective be forced to choose something specific, which when broken down requires intervention in the choices of certain people. One of the famous answers is that anyone can choose good, but as a collective, God caused… which is of course strange that this is a popular answer (I don't remember whose it is) when it is clearly illogical because, as I said, looking at the collective may be confusing for a moment, but it is made up of many details and in order to change the statistics for the big picture, you have to deal with the details. What is more, it is possible to perhaps plant annoying genes in us or something.
What is your opinion on the subject? Is there or is there no mysticism in the matter? Can God make the collective choose something?
