Like in the USSR?

שו"תLike in the USSR?
שאל לפני 4 שנים

An elite group of Haredi men and women from a variety of Haredi communities, a truly elite group, meeting on a regular basis (Friday night) and learning from professors (sometimes with less advanced degrees) about Harediism.
Of course, the lecturers are either from the community or it is their field of expertise.

Recently, a respected and renowned professor in the field spoke about the fact that hundreds of thousands of Haredim are actually leaving the community (now only in their hearts, and are waiting for the right moment to come out openly) and that the Haredi community is in the same situation as the USSR in 1988.
Everyone (except for 2.1 guest who came for the first time, and I only have a master's degree, my education is probably low in the field of sociology. I didn't understand all the basic assumptions, the analysis, certainly not the conclusions) agreed that this was the situation and the discussion was what could be done about it and how at least some could be saved, etc.
I asked:
The rabbi who was in the Haredi sector and abandoned it in favor of other communities of God's servants. Did the rabbi think this was the situation? (It was simple for everyone and the discussion was what could be done)
And if so, does the Rabbi have a reason why this is so?
And when will it explode?
Should I run away before it happens?
I'm really embarrassed…
I would be happy to answer if the rabbi has any.

There is nothing to escape before it arrives. Nothing will explode there, and it is doubtful that anything is going to arrive even without an explosion. Harediism will not disintegrate so quickly, even without an explosion. For many years, the end has been predicted, and it is not really happening. I have written more than once that the only thing worth doing in this situation is to be brave and criticize openly. The problem with these guys is that, unlike other oppressed groups, they don't have the courage to organize and fight and pay the price. Everyone is afraid for themselves and says they don't want to pay the price. They expect other people from outside to make an instant revolution for them, without the price. But there is no revolution without the price. Just like the Palestinians don't help themselves, they only whine and murder and expect others to act for them. There are indeed many such people in the Haredi sector, but they remain alone and therefore there is no support for others who feel this way. Change will not come until these people organize openly, and remain critical Haredi. At the very least, there should be enough courage to leave for other religious groups.
