Morality as the Purpose of the Torah
Hello Rabbi,
I have seen many times that you claim that it is impossible that God's purpose in creating the world is morality, since morality is the correction of society, and if the entire purpose of the world is to correct society, there is no need to create the world at all, because it would have been better not to create it, and thus there would have been no need to correct it.
My question is why not say that a moral and reformed society is better than no society at all, and if so, is it possible that the goal of the world is indeed to build a moral society in which there will be happiness for all members of society, a situation that is better than there being no society at all and thus in fact there will be no happiness.
