Orphan Kaddish for someone who has no sons

שו"תOrphan Kaddish for someone who has no sons
שאל לפני 4 שנים

Peace and blessings. I wanted to ask the Rabbi's opinion – my grandmother died and she has no son to say Kaddish after her. Is there a common sense reason to look for someone to say Kaddish for her for a fee, or is there no point in investing in this area? Isn't a gamach better? Is there any point in trying to do something for the deceased or is there no benefit to it (other than learning from the deceased's words and actions)?

From my perspective, it seems to me that there is no point in Kaddish, although the world believes there is. I also think that in general there is no point in doing things for the deceased, but here it is clearly a matter of convenience. Maybe if his influence on me is good, then the practical results of this will really be credited to him.
