Question about the prohibition of not praying
Hello Rabbi Michael,
I wanted to ask you about the prohibition against begging. I recently traveled abroad and there I sometimes helped Gentiles "for free" or spoke in their praise. I should point out that I was able to refrain from helping them without any hostility or unpleasantness, and yet sometimes I helped them. I asked if there was a prohibition against begging in this and in general what the limits of the prohibition against begging are.

The poskim disagree on whether there is a prohibition against praying to Gentiles who are not worshipers of the Law of Moses. According to the Meiri, Gentiles who are bound by the manners of the nations (= who behave like humans) have Jewish law, so there certainly should be no such prohibition. I personally agree with him completely, and therefore I believe it is appropriate and right to help Gentiles.
