Some halachic questions
Hello Rabbi, I wanted to ask you a few questions.
(Thank you for the detailed halakhic response on the subject of postponing circumcision)
1. What is the ruling on reading books about Israel's wars on Shabbat? (There is enjoyment in that.) What is generally permitted and prohibited from reading on Shabbat? The issue is not entirely clear to me.
2. Is it permissible to sterilize bottles for a baby on Shabbat? Since we take a bottle, rinse it, and then pour boiling water over it, the remaining drops of water are not needed, but after all, there is an interest in boiling them to kill the bacteria, and therefore it seems that the ruling is different from the drops of water (left over from rinsing) that are not needed in making coffee or tea.
3. What is the Rabbi's opinion regarding baby sense on Shabbat, a device that beeps and turns on a light when it detects a child's lack of breathing? Is it permissible to operate it in a change? There is a discussion here on the question of macro and micro rulings, since the device saves toddlers every year and its prohibition on Shabbat means that a minority of children will inevitably die. (Similar to the permission that the Rabbi presented to Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu regarding the use of a flashlight to check the weapon when the soldier descends from the position)
Thank you very much.
Good afternoon
