Thanksgiving to God

שו"תThanksgiving to God
שאל לפני 9 שנים

Hello Rabbi. Lately I've been wondering about the need to thank God for life and for every breath, etc. After all, somewhere we were born into the world against our will, or more precisely, there was no 'contradiction' here, and there was no 'will' because we simply weren't asked about it. If so, why would I thank God for bringing me into the world and, in fact, if I could say – not abusing me? If my life were to proceed in a way that I wouldn't have any good in the world and, moreover, I would even suffer, there would be a claim to the Creator for my very existence. And in fact, the line of logic allows me to breathe at every moment and have good at every given moment, just as I have a duty to take care of my children, and they don't need to thank me for not suffocating them to death, because it's a fairly trivial thing that I would let them live after I was the one who took their lives away. So why would I feel a need to be grateful for the fact that I live every day? Isn't that obvious anyway?
